 Welcome to the new and improved registration process for the Dubai Pet Show.
All you need to do is register your personal details followed by those of your dog and the event they will be participating in.
To ensure you dog is registered in the right class, please read the relevant information below:
- Do I need to pay for my pet to enter the competition?
Yes, there will be a fee of AED 30 per dog per category entry. Your full registration fee will be donated directly to K9 friends to help support their ongoing efforts.
- How do I register my pet?
- Complete the registration from on this site and we will store your data and process your entry. *
- Turn up on Friday 29th January 2010 at Dubai Festival City and introduce yourself and your pet to the desk of on-line registration. Registration booths are located under the stadium of the Main Pedigree® Ring.
- Pay your registration fee of AED30 (which will be donated to K9 friends) and keep an eye on the schedule to see when you will be participating.
- Every participant will receive a Pedigree® gift voucher that can be claimed at the Pedigree Sales tent.
* We respect your privacy and will not share your details with anyone else other than Mars Inc. and the Pet Show organisers to process your entry.
- I want to enter my puppy, how old must he/she be?
Your puppy should be at least 6 months old and no older than one year.
N.B. Please ensure that your puppy has had all the necessary vaccinations and please bring those papers with you. This is important for health reasons as younger puppies often have less resistance to infections or upsets.
JUDGING
What are the judging criteria?
Each breed shown has its own breed standard which evolved over many years and developed in its country of origin. Each country with its own Kennel Club produces this breed standard or blueprint for judges to follow. The Kennel Club in the UK is the acknowledged authority on most breeds. The judges we have at the show each year are accustomed to judging large entries of dogs at each show and also have judged many breeds throughout the world.

What are the judges looking for when they judge?
Generally speaking, they are looking for the dogs that most closely fit the breed standards or blueprint published for each particular breed. Along with that they are looking for muscle tone, condition, presentation and movement.
In keeping with the show and bearing in mind that most of the entrants are new to showing, they will also keep things on a relaxed basis to encourage the exhibitors. In other words, try to provide an enjoyable but informative day out and a talking point for the audience.
CLASSES
Crossbreed Classes
The judge doing the crossbreed classes has a special interest since many of the pets are crossbred and as such are as important to their families as the pedigree dogs. Since she cannot use a blueprint, her criteria is again the conditioning and balance along with the movement and also the relationship between dog and handler.
Handling & Children’s Classes
The judge doing the Handling Classes and Children's Classes will have in mind the encouragement of the youngsters and will deal gently with them.
From 14:00-14:30, the judges will invite all winners from the morning and they will choose :
Each of the winners above will receive a gift voucher from Pedigree® Dog Food.
FUN COMPETITIONS
The fun competitions are for fun, for everyone to be able to participate at the Pedigree® competitions. Therefore we strongly encourage you to release your imagination and do not hesitate to register for these classes.
The 1st, 2nd and 3rd prize winners of each class will receive a AED 750, AED 500 and AED 200 gift voucher respectively from Pedigree® Dog Food.
Dog most like its owner
Dog looking most like its owner. Participants go out of their way in dressing up alike their best friend.
Best Six Legs
Judges will look at the Best six legs - best dog-owner and dog. They will look at how the dog owner and the dog interact together and how good of a relationship they have going.
Happiest Dog
Simply, the judges will choose the Happiest Dog.
Fancy Dress
It is all about having fun dressing up your dog. Every year, we get a lot of exciting entries ranging from dressing up dogs into ballerinas, airline crew and a lot more! The best dressed up dog with its owner will win. So release your imagination and do not hesitate to register for these fun classes and have fun.
N.B. This is the most popular class of the event, so make sure you register early.
At the Pedigree® Agility Ring, we hold agility classes where dog owners and their dogs can demonstrate different agility tricks they know. During the day, the Dubai, Abu Dhabi and K9 Customs Dubai Police displays the different skills they have been trained in - from sniffing drugs to saving passengers.
K9 Friends Display:
We give the floor for K9 Friends to show their dogs at both arenas during the day. Jackie Ratcliffe will share with the public the story of the sheltered dogs. At the end of the display, Pedigree® Representative gives a Rosette for the winner and a 750 AED voucher from Pedigree® Dog Food.
